This is a long review. So let me give you a SHORT VERSION first: As a beginner's kit, it comes with all the materials and tools you need to make the dinosaur. The seller's videos are amazingly helpful. The included booklets, however, are not much help when you are starting out. I could start right away by following along with the videos without having to first memorize the techniques and crochet terms from the booklets. I did finish my dinosaur, which certainly does not look as good as in the instructional videos, but I am very happy with the result. I am uploading photos of my dinosaur. NOW, HERE ARE THE DETAILS: I am an absolute beginner (more like the dummy level) at crocheting, knitting, or the sort, but decided to give this kit a try because the dinosaur is so cute. This kit includes yarns, 2 hooks, 2 plastic eyes, 5 markers, one metal needle, fiberfill, and 2 booklets. Hooks: One hook is double ended and labeled with 2/0 and 1/0. The other hook is labeled with 2.5mm. The video says the two hooks are the same size, but you can hold them differently. Yarns: Enough yarns to allow for mistakes and starting over, which I did a couple of times when I could not seem to fix my mistakes by unwinding. It's nice that the kit also gives you an additional small roll of yarn (a different color) to practice. Booklets: One has the crochet patterns for the dinosaur. The booklets are not the step-by-step instructions and did not make any sense to me when I first opened the kit. One is more like a quick reference picture booklet. There is a QR code in each booklet - each goes to a different playlist on YouTube: general beginners and dinosaur kit specific, which are super helpful. Video Playlist for Beginners: Step-by-step of the basic techniques/abbreviations. Includes more techniques than you need for this kit. I only started crocheting in January of this year (2024). This is my 6th or 7th kit. I had a lot of fun with this one. I think if you have some sort of crochet knowledge, this will be relatively easy to complete. The instructions were easy to follow, and the kit has everything you need to complete it. A tip: put some stuffing in the lower feet and tail for a fuller look.
How cute is this little guy? He's as much fun to create as he is to look at when you’re done. This kit has everything you’ll need to bring him to life. The crochet hooks are the best I’ve used. They have a silicone handle that is erogonomic and comfortable to hold. There are two hooks, one for the main part of the dino and a second smaller hook for the mouth/teeth. The yarn is soft and slightly thinner than regular yarn so the stitches can be smaller. I did have a little trouble with it unraveling but it was my fault because I had to take out and re-do a section a few times ( My counting was off. ) The pattern is simple enough for a beginner like me. It uses letters rather than stitch abbreviations which was unexpected but I picked up it on fairly quickly. It might be easier for someone brand new to crochet. The videos show every step and are straightforward. If you need to slow them down I recommend using the YouTube playerback speed settings (gear wheel in upper right corner on my screen). You do have to join yarn of the same color (there are multiple skeins of one color) and there is color change but with a such a simple pattern and stitches, it’s an easier way to learn. Overall, I’m very happy with the kit. I like not having to guess which supplies and colors I need. A small project lets you see your progress quickly. The kit doesn’t take much space and can easily be packed up. I would buy more kits like this from this seller and give it 5 stars.

I got this kit for my teenaged son to try out. He loves crochet but this is his first try at an amigurmi project. He has been begging for supplies to try one so I loved that the kit came with everything he would need all in one package.
